If you hurry, you can still register for, and make arrangements to attend, the annual African People's Socialist Party (APSP) Plenary this Jan 7-9th in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The APSP notes on its website that it was founded in 1972 and has "kept the African Liberation Movement alive after the U.S. government’s defeat of the Black Revolution of the Sixties." It works "in pursuit of the liberation and unification of Africa and African people worldwide as led by the African working class represented by its own African People’s Socialist Party."

The organization invites you to the Plenary to share in the celebration of their accomplishments, "sum up our last period of work and prepare for the struggles and victories to come."

For further information, check out the short video above from the Uhuru Solidarity Movement (USM) in which a handful of the "comrades in Boston explain why they are going to the annual APSP Plenary." A woman calling herself the USM Membership Coordinator states at the outset that "You can't reform a system based on slavery and genocide. Revolution is the only solution." Uhuru, by the way, is Swahili for "freedom."

According to its website, the USM is "the only organization of white people" "created by and working directly under the leadership of the African People’s Socialist Party...
Our mission is to organize inside the belly of the beast, winning other white people to take a stand in solidarity with the self-defined struggle of African people for liberation, self-determination and power over their own lives and resources." They seek reparations for Africans and "to transform the legacy of white people."

Their "About" page goes on to note, predictably, that the U.S. was built on slavery, genocide and colonialism, and that "the continent of Africa and all its minerals and resources belongs to African people and must be used for their benefit, not European and American corporations."
