Despite claims from Democrats like Michael Moore that "Trump has no mandate," a new Rasmussen Reports survey shows that a wide majority of Americans want Trump to succeed.
According to the report, 73 percent of all voters want Trump’s presidency to be successful," and perhaps most surprisingly, 57 percent of Democrats hope for the same.
Another positive note is Trump's support among his base of Republicans, with 91 percent hoping that it be a success.
Enthusiasm and optimism were, however, low, with only 39 percent voters predicting his presidency is "more likely to be a success" and 30 percent predicting his failure.
His overall favorable rating remains stagnant, with "just over half of all voters now" viewing him favorably.
The poll questioned 1,000 likely voters across the country on Jan. 3 and Jan. 4. The results have a plus or minus three point margin of error.
