Move over "Happy Holidays," President-elect Donald Trump has promised to make America say "Merry Christmas" again.
During a stop on his "Thank You" tour in West Allis, WI, Trump opened up his speech by making good on his promise from a year ago to do away with the politically correct "Happy Holidays" and bring back "Merry Christmas."
"So when I started 18 months ago, I told my first crowd in Wisconsin that we are going to come back here someday and we are going to say merry Christmas again," Trump said. "Merry Christmas — so, merry Christmas everyone. Happy New Year, but Merry Christmas. And I am here today for one main reason: to say thank you to the people of Wisconsin."
A sign on the podium also read "Merry Christmas USA" with a decorated Christmas Tree as its backdrop.
Trump first made his promise to say "Merry Christmas" again last year when controversy heated up over Starbucks releasing plain red cups with no Christmas imagery during the holiday season.
"I have one of the most successful Starbucks, in Trump Tower. Maybe we should boycott Starbucks? I don't know. Seriously, I don't care. That's the end of that lease, but who cares?" Trump told a crowd in Springfield, Illinois. "If I become president, we're all going to be saying Merry Christmas again, that I can tell you. That I can tell you."
The President-elect later took a more serious tone during a campaign stop in Iowa when a spoke of how political correctness has ruined America's most treasured holiday.
When they don't want to say 'merry Christmas' in department stores anymore. I won't shop at places that don't say 'merry Christmas.' Guess what? I don't too much shopping," he said to applause. "No, no, it's true. When I see these stores, and they have a red wall and they have nothing on it. They don't want to say 'merry Christmas' anymore. I say, 'Why don't you say merry Christmas?'
I'll tell you one thing: I get elected president, we're going to be saying 'merry Christmas' again. Just remember that," he said. "And by the way, Christianity will have power.
