Russia "hacked the U.S. election" and apparently forces within the Kremlin are orchestrating migrant rape-sprees across Germany in an effort to sway that country's election, too. 

Yes, according to Gustav Gressel, a policy expert at the European Council on Foreign Relations, Russian and Syrian governments have the power to orchestrate Cologne-style attacks across Germany. Gressel told HeatStreet that "the Russian FSB (the agency formerly known as the KGB) could even cause events like the recent mass sex attacks in Cologne to shift public opinion."

This in turn has driven the Eurosceptic Alternative Fuer Deutschland party to new heights of popularity, and has seen Merkel herself pursue more hardline policies like her recently suggested burqa ban.

The head of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency warned last week that Russia is already trying to interfere – and Gressel says this is an extreme case scenario for what could happen.

The horrific attack in Cologne last New Year's Eve, which resulted in the sexual assault of an estimated 1,200 women, definitely put a damper on the German governments' plan to continue ramming multiculturalism down its citizens' throats.

Now, rather than admit German Chancellor Angela Merkel's social experiment has been an abysmal failure, and that her government alone is responsible for future attacks that are sure to be waged against German citizens, it is easier to blame Russia. So, while Gressel admits he doesn't think Russian orchestrated rape-sprees are underway yet, Germany must brace for the distinct possibility.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Gressel added: 

The German security services need to prepare for a very large margin of things.
And such groping attacks are the worst thing to happen.

In Germany you have no legislation on sexual harassment. It taps into a legislative void – if people have not stolen or raped anybody, you have the huge public outcry, but nobody can do much because it’s not a criminal offence.

Such groping attacks are not high-risk because the punishment is not high.
It’s very hard to investigate.

"The Russians are always trying to split the political system," Gressel told the AP, "and refugees are the most divisive issue in Germany."

Russia is very busy these days, it seems.
