Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) is a research institute that studies the incitement of the Palestinian population against Jews and Israel, though monitoring and analyzing the Palestinian Authority through its media and schoolbooks. Most of the examples they publish are translations of the videos and messages broadcast over the state-run TV. On of the stumbling blocks placed in front of the PMW efforts is You Tube, who intermittently decides to block access to their videos or shuts down their account.
For example, recently PMW posted a video/translation from Fatah (the ruling party of the Palestinian Authority. The original video is up on the Fatah Facebook and YouTube pages and publicizes threats to kidnap, kill, and bomb Israelis by terror organization Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, which is part of Fatah. The video says in part:
Bombard them with your fire and shoot them... Praise Allah, our Jihad fighters have managed to develop these rockets so they will reach the Zionist depth [Israel]... We in the Al-Aqsa Brigades are preparing to kidnap Zionist soldiers to settle accounts with the Zionist enemy... Be like Yasser [Arafat] - do not fear them. Death is in your cup - make them drink... With these rockets we will crush the Zionist enemy.
While YouTube has left up the English version of the video (see above), they have decided to block PMW's Hebrew version of this video, claiming the video violates YouTube's "policy on depiction of harmful activities."
The irony is that while YouTube removed the video from PMW's account, they have not removed it from the Fatah Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades account in Arabic. The video is still there inciting people to murder.
Sadly, this is not the first time PMW's efforts expose the Palestinian incitement of violence has been delayed by YouTube. In the past, PMW videos have been blocked and their YouTube account has been closed down.
