Politico: John Walsh Replaces Piers Morgan As CNN's Anti-Gun Guy

"We have a serious problem with guns in this country ..."

Though his show won't focus on current events or political topics, new CNN hire John Walsh made his feelings on guns and gun control known during a conference call set up to promote his new show The Hunt.

A Politico article on the conference call noted that Walsh seems poised to replace departed talk show host Piers Morgan "as the cable network's in-house gun control advocate."

Whether Walsh brought it up unprompted or he was asked about it, the America's Most Wanted host doesn't hold the National Rifle Association in high regard:

"We have a serious problem with guns in this country, and we refuse to address it," Walsh, the creator and host of "America's Most Wanted," told reporters on Monday. "The NRA solution to arm every grammar school 80-year-old teacher with a gun is absolutely ludicrous."

Walsh also referenced a conversation he had with Vice President Joe Biden in which Biden confirmed Walsh's suspicion that politicians were "scared sh**less" of the NRA.
