Apparently, he is not that superstitious. Congressman Paul Ryan seems to be shedding the “hard-to-get” persona as he and his staff have already scheduled a Speakership victory part for this coming Thursday evening – despite the fact that he has not yet won the speakership.

Breitbart obtained a copy of the invitation, posted here, which was reportedly sent to all House Republicans. The fete is slated to be held at the Library of Congress’ Jefferson Building. 

“The pleasure of your company is requested at a Reception Honoring the 54th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives: The Honorable Paul D. Ryan.” 

Some are not pleased with Ryan’s presumptuousness, with one House Republican aide characterizing the move as "arrogant."  

While slim, there is still always the possibility that Ryan could lose the Speakership during a vote on the House floor or, as Breitbart points out, finds himself forced to win a second ballot. These facts seem trivial to the Ryan camp.

Playing hard-to-get and expressing all that worry about giving up “family time” may have been a ruse.
