Top news networks NBC and ABC both were too busy last week reporting on the white Cincinnati police officer who shot and killed a black man during a traffic stop to notice that an illegal Mexican immigrant had been recaptured after being on a killing and rape crime spree.

Both Good Morning America and Today completely ignored this story as it was developing, not mentioning it once in six hours of combined coverage, as Newsbusters points out. In contrast, both spent over three minutes each talking about the Cincinnati incident. 

Among the big three, only CBS made mention of Juan Emmanuel Razo-Ramirez during Thursday's This Morning. Gayle King reported, as quoted by Newsbusters:

"Another illegal from Mexico immigrant faces murder charges in the U.S. Police in Ohio say they stopped him weeks before the killing, but they were told to let him go." Reporter Vladimir Duthiers noted that Razo was arrested on Monday, but "police in Ohio say they stopped him weeks earlier when immigration officials were notified of his undocumented status."  

Razo was arrested on Monday of last week after a shootout with police that followed a crime spree beginning with the attempted rape of a 14-year-old girl, shooting a woman in front of her children, and murdering a 60-year-old woman. According to Fox News, Razo had no green card, birth certificate, or driver's license and still had been released from federal custody. Razo was even questioned by local authorities three weeks prior to this crime spree, but was let go because "he hadn't committed a crime at that point," the report states.

That brings up this question: Is being in America illegally NOT a crime anymore?

Then a followup $10 million question (equal to his bond): Why was Razo allowed to remain in the U.S. illegally?
