One of the most famous speeches in American history is the one given by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt the day after Pearl Harbor was attacked, in which he said:
Yesterday, December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy – The United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by the naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. The United States was at peace with that nation, and at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its Emperor.
Imagine if Obama gave that speech that rallied a nation into World War II. Cartoonist Bob Gorrell has envisioned such a scenario. In a new cartoon, Gorrell shows what the speech would have been like if it were edited by Barack Obama.
“Yesterday, December 7, 1941, a date which will live in infamy (is in the calendar) – The United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked (randomly inconvenienced) by the naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan (folks who are not real Japanese). The United States was (is still) at peace with that nation, and at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its Emperor (thinks creating jobs would prevent this).
