Google, GoDaddy Cancel Neo-Nazi Domain After Charlottesville Protest

But don’t worry, there is plenty of other offensive content still available.

After violent clashes between white supremacists and counter-protesters in Charlottesville which left one woman dead, GoDaddy canceled the neo-Nazi web domain Daily Stormer. When the website looked to be hosted by Google, the company also denied its registration.

On Sunday evening, Daily Stormer published a demeaning story about the victim of the protests, Heather Heyer, which attacked her physical appearance and called her offensive names, GoDaddy decided to distance itself from the website after months of criticism for hosting the site.

After GoDaddy pulled the plug, Daily Stormer tried Google to no avail, as the company declared, “We are cancelling Daily Stormer’s registration with Google Domains for violating our terms of service.”

According to Business Insider, “Daily Stormer registered its domain with Google at 7:51 a.m. Pacific. Google canceled the registration at 11:02 a.m. Pacific.”

No word, yet, if Google or GoDaddy plans to purge the World Wide Web of all of the other offensive content, including Islamic terrorism, anti-Israel, child pornography, or leftist death threats to our president.
