Eco terrorists descended onto the private property of Donald Trump’s Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes in California in the early morning hours to send a message to him about the environment by destroying the environment.
The group labels itself the Anonymous Environmental Activist Collective and used various tools to carve six-foot-tall letters into one of the greens at the club. It read: “NO MORE TIGERS. NO MORE WOODS.”
The group sent a statement to The Washington Post explaining it targeted Trump for his “blatant disregard” for the environment:
In response to the president’s recent decision to gut our existing protection policies, direct action was conceived and executed on the green of his California golf course in the form of a simple message: NO MORE TIGERS. NO MORE WOODS.
Tearing up the golf course felt justified in many ways. Repurposing what was once a beautiful stretch of land into a playground for the privileged is an environmental crime in its own right.
We hope this sends a message to Trump and his corrupt administration that their actions will be met with action.
Shortly after the crime took place, the four men responsible returned to their high-rent apartments around Los Angeles… on what once was a beautiful stretch of land, now repurposed for their comfort and shelter.
What these criminals might not have been aware of when they jumped the fence and trampled the foliage is that the golf course is host to “several protected plant species,” according to the club’s website, “and the endangered Coastal California Gnatcatcher (a small migratory bird.)”
The Post’s coverage of this story is equally disturbing and telling of the state of today’s mainstream media. Now the article appears with an editor’s note explaining how the “story was changed to more accurately reflect the nature of the actions taken by a protest group.” The original article read quite differently, and nearly praised the eco terrorists actions.
The original opening (with added emphasis):
“A group of environmental activists pulled off a daring act of defiance at one of President Trump’s premier golf courses early Sunday morning.”
The amended opening:
“A group of environmental activists pulled off an elaborate act of vandalism at one of President Trump’s premier golf courses early Sunday morning.”
Below is video of the "daring act of defiance" or "elaborate act of vandalism," depending on your perspective:
