Day one of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia featured 61 speakers -- including the First Lady, primary candidate Bernie Sanders, and Vice Presidential short-list contenders Elizabeth Warren and Corey Booker.
Yet with all of those speakers, delivering hours and hours of prepared speeches, not one mention of ISIS was made. USA Today reports:
That finding was verified by Politifact, which concluded no speaker specifically referenced the terrorist group or the word terrorism.
"On night one of the Democrat convention, we saw lots of boos, infighting, steamrolled votes, and controversy, but amid 61 speakers, we heard not one mention of the greatest terrorist threat facing America today," Raj Shah the research director and deputy communications director at the RNC said in a statement.
At last week's Republican convention in Cleveland, the Islamic State was a top talker on the floor.
GOP nominee Donald Trump, meanwhile capitalized on Democrats' blatant disregard for what Americans are most concerned about:
While the DNC roster claimed that foreign policy was never meant to be the focus of the convention's first night, the fact that not even a presidential primary candidate, nor vice presidential contenders brought up terrorism or ISIS -- speaks volumes.
Also keep in mind that these speeches were made within mere hours and days of the string of horrific Islamic terror attacks in Germany and France, and but a month after Omar Mateen's ISIS-pledged rampage in Orlando (not that Democrats ever acknowledged any of it was Islamic terrorism anyway).
Democrats failure to address ISIS on the first night of their convention continues to reinforce the reality that they are completely out of touch with reality, willfully blind to the threats Westerners face, and utterly indifferent to what Americans truly care about.
