The View’s Joy Behar has received a message from above that she is the chosen one meant to save this country from Donald Trump. She said so on MSNBC’s Morning Joe while discussing the reason behind her new book, The Great Gasbag: An A-to-Z Guide to Surviving Trump World.
Host Joe Scarborough prompted Behar to say why she wrote the book. She responded:
“Because I am being told by God to save this country.”
Behar explains that she goes through the alphabet after thinking to herself one day, M is for “moron.” Besides, “It was easier to write that way," she said about the simplicity of the book. (In the book, M is actually for “Mar-a-Lago.”)
Behar is one of the most vocal anti-Trumpers on television, going on a near-daily diatribe against Trump and his supporters. Her book is an extension of that, but allegedly wrapped in humor:
“You have to take it seriously, but you also have to make fun of it. Because, as Mel Brooks makes fun of the Nazis, you make fun — if I don’t say the word ‘Nazi’ everyday, I don’t feel good — but as he makes fun of Hitler, by making fool of him, that’s how you do it. You make fun of [Trump].”
She proudly says dinner parties she has been invited to have turned into fights since Trump was elected and she isn’t backing down:
“Because if you’re a Trump supporter, there’s something going on with you that I can’t abide. That means that you don’t care about the environment. It means that you don’t care about women’s issues. It means you don’t care about the fact that he provokes that nut case in North Korea. I’m worried about the country. So how can you be on his side? I don’t get that. Do you?"
This makes us wonder if T in Behar’s book is for “tolerance,” but we're pretty sure she doesn't know the definition.
