Watch: Major Garrett Asks White House The Burning Question America Has Pondered For Many Years

Why?

At Tuesday's White House press briefing, CBS News' Major Garrett asked the question so many have been asking so often about so much that the President does: why should we watch? Speaking to Press Secretary Josh Earnest, Garrett attempts to find out what exactly the President will be talking about in his big speech on ISIS Wednesday night.

"If I've listened to you correctly today, you've said the President will tell the country there will be no ground troops involved, there'll be no technical operational details, no timeline for victory, no cost associated with the pursuit of victory ... why should they watch?"

Earnest answers that Obama will talk about the risks America faces and his strategy for facing those risks. Apparently, a strategy outline that includes, well, nothing about the strategy. So .. not a strategy in the English sense of the word. Garrett continues:

"The audience wants to know how we're gonna win. Mr. President, tell us how we're gonna win. And I don't hear, based on what you said, the President gonna tell people that tomorrow."

Earnest rejoins with a super illuminating answer. "I don't have the speech in front of me." Well at least we cleared that up.

It seems safe to say, though, that the President has evolved from "no strategy." Now he has one, it's just apparently just a super duper big surprise kind of strategy, maybe with some balloons and confetti and possibly a celebrity cameo or another suit malfunction.
