Transgender Woman Arrested for Taking Pictures of Woman in Target Dressing Room

The perpetrator was described as a a white male wearing a wig and a dress.

On Tuesday, a 43-year-old transgender woman was arrested for taking pictures of women in a Target dressing room, according to police.

Shauna Patricia Smith, born as Sean Patrick Smith, allegedly held a cell phone over the top of a dressing room stall to take pictures of an 18-year-old changing. The victim's mother confronted Smith and Smith ran away.

“The woman was begging for help as she chased the man out the door,” a witness told EastIdahoNews.com.

“She kept saying she wanted those pictures deleted.”

The perpetrator was described as a a white male wearing a wig and a dress. Cops finally caught up with Smith who admitted he took the pictures for “the same reason men look at pornography.”

Smith was booked into the county jail as a male and is facing one felony count of voyeurism.

Back in April, Target announced it would allow transgendered persons to use the dressing room that corresponded to the gender with which they identify.
