Texas Tech Invites Condoleezza Rice to Be Commencement Speaker

What's bad for Rutgers appears to be good for Texas Tech.

What's bad for Rutgers University appears to be good for Texas Tech University as the home of the Red Raiders have asked former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice to be their commencement speaker.

In a move that further illustrates our national divide, the Rick Perry led state of Texas welcomes the former Bush advisor while the Chris Christie-led state of New Jersey shamefully snubbed the trail-blazing diplomat. Chancellor Kent Hance stated that Rice could speak at any graduation ceremony in 2015, labeling her a "distinguished diplomat and great leader." Rice has not yet responded to the invitation.

Rutgers disinvited Rice after student and professor pressure. She was slated to deliver the commencement address on May 18.
