It seems the pressure of being the poster girl for the #MeToo movement has pushed Rose McGown to the edge, which she jumped over Wednesday night during a reading of her book Brave at a Manhattan Barnes & Noble.
After reading through Variety’s report from the event, McGown appeared to be a little worse for wear, telling the crowd, “It feels good to sit.” They asked if she’d had a long day and she replied, “It’s been a long life.”
The actress was there to read passages from her book and answer pre-submitted questions. She’s been very busy with various appearances lately where the conversation inevitably centers on her accusations of rape at the hands of former Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein. And it was no different at the book event.
But after the first question, a transgender audience member jumped up and launched a tirade of criticism on McGowan which brought all of her demons to the surface.
“Trans women are dying and you said that we, as trans women, are not like regular women. We get raped more often. We go through domestic violence more often. There was a trans woman killed here a few blocks [away]. I have been followed home,” the man said.
McGowan sat forward in her chair yet and returned, “So am I. We are the same. My point was, we are the same. There’s an entire show called ID channel, a network, dedicated to women getting abused, murdered, sexualized, violated, and you’re a part of that, too, sister. It’s the same.”
“You do nothing for them,” the man shouted back. “Trans women are in men’s prisons. And what have you done for them?”
McGowan countered, “What have you done for women?”
Then the yelling match really began. The transgender was ushered out of the room while repeatedly shouting that McGowan peddles only “white cis feminism.” The steaming actress erupted out of her seat:
“Don’t label me, sister. Don’t put your labels on me. Don’t you f***ing do that. Do not put your labels on me. I don’t come from your planet. Leave me alone. I do not subscribe to your rules. I do not subscribe to your language. You will not put labels on me or anybody. Step the f*** back. What I do for the f***ing world and you should be f***ing grateful. Shut the f*** up. Get off my back. What have you done? I know what I’ve done, god d***it.”
She added after another lengthy rant, “Stop boxing everybody into sh*t. I didn’t agree to your cis f***ing world, okay? F*** off.”
But here’s the thing: she did sign up for this. This is the heart of leftism: pent up rage and anger over perceived offenses instead of upholding the freedom of having diverse ideas. These two leftists devoured each other over the situation they created themselves. It’s their language and their rules which are ever-changing.
The #MeToo movement is exposing male abusers as it should, but it’s also exposing the fraud of leftism. None of them will be happy until we are all sharing the same ideals. Since that will never happen, leftists will remain miserable, as is so evident in the above video.
