Petition Supporting Duggar Family Tops 65,000, Still Climbing

On Thursday, after The Huffington Post and several leftist media outlets gave heavy exposure to a petition seeking to have the hit TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting canceled over the Duggar family's Christian views on homosexuality, LifeSiteNews immediately launched a retaliatory petition that has since gained over 65,000 signatures and has been climbing at extremely fast rates.

LifeSiteNews has not stood alone in support of the Duggar family, but has also been joined by the Benham brothers, the famous twin brothers who had their home make-over show canceled on HGTV for holding Christian views toward homosexuality, and former Fox News contributor Steven Crowder.

The Benham brothers characterized the effort as "the same intolerant agenda that attacked our family" and "is now demonizing one of the most wholesome families in America."

"The Duggars have always been an example of Christian love for each other and society," said the brothers. "It’s time for Americans to stand with them against this latest manifestation of anti-Christian bullying."

A Tweetfest supporting the Duggars is scheduled to begin at noon today, using the hashtag #DefendtheDuggars. (Click here to find out more about the Tweetfest.)
