Rabid Marxist Yvette Felarca has been ordered to pay the legal fees of a conservative student at the University of California-Berkeley after she failed to get a permanent restraining order filed against him.
Felarca, who happens to
indoctrinate teach middle schoolers in Berkeley, is a member of the Antifa group BAMN (By Any Means Necessary). She has already been in trouble with the law several times over violent acts and has been arrested for “punching Nazis,” inciting riots, and for getting into a fight inside an “empathy tent” (of all things) set up at UC-Berkeley.
Back in September, Felarca ordered a temporary restraining order against Troy Worden, a former president of the College Republicans at the university. She claimed he stalked and harassed her on campus. According to Fox News, Worden was initially told to stay 100 yards away but had it reduced to only 10 yards.
Worden said it was people like Felarca that were harassing him and other College Republicans at Berkeley and restricting their “First and Second Amendment rights,” according to his lawyer, Mark Meuser.
“I have to look behind my shoulder whenever I am on campus and especially when I am engaged in political activism,” Worden told Fox News.
By Octover, Felarca had ordered a permanent restraining order against Worden, but decided at the last minute — the day of the hearing, in fact — to cancel. Worden was left with a pile of attorney’s fees.
For that, Felarca has been ordered to hand over $11,100 in legal fees on behalf of Worden, whose lawyer said actually totaled over $178,000.
Meuser said, “By ruling that Yvette Felarca did not demonstrate good faith in filing the restraining order, the court recognized the frivolous nature of Felarca’s actions. The award of attorney fees should send a strong signal that she cannot abuse the court system to silence speech.”
As for Felarca’s attorney, Shanta Driver, the judge is obviously a secret member of the alt-right:
“This verdict was based on the judge’s decision to support the political views of Troy Worden and the alt-right and that is not acceptable.”
Worden laments what UC-Berkeley has become:
“The No. 1 public university in the world and the so-called ‘birthplace of the free speech movement’ is anything but. It is the place where America’s conservative youth are daily under threat of violence, lacking the support of the university administration, police, or city. The Free Speech Movement is dead, and the left has killed it.”
