In Clark County, Las Vegas, parents are outraged at the School Board of Trustees for wanting to teach their five-year-old children about the art of masturbation, reports LifeSiteNews.
The proposed new set of "comprehensive sex education" curriculums would reportedly educate the children about homosexuality by teaching children to give everyone "respect regardless who they are attracted to."
School children in kindergarten through grade 3 would also be taught that “touching and rubbing one’s genitals to feel good is called masturbation.”
“You want to teach my 5 year old how to masturbate?" said parent Julie Butler to KTNV.
“We certainly should not be teaching five year olds that masturbation and pleasuring one's body is good, and that a 12-year-old should know about the very details of anal and oral sex," said another parent.
Parent Ronald Withaeger said he was "appalled" by some of the instructions that said "masturbation should be done in a private place," because "that’s kindergarten through third grade. You’ve got to be kidding me. There’s no need to know that at that age."
Chloe Davis, a high school student attending the meeting said, "I think I went through about 20 pages [of the proposed curriculum] and I couldn't continue with it because some of the stuff was just too disturbing to me at the age that I am, and I'm 17 years old."
The curriculum has not been put in place yet in the district's 337 schools. Pat Skorkowsky, Clark County Superintendent, stated they were only seeking "input from the community" on the subject.
