While the father of Orlando terrorist Omar Mateen wants to proclaim his support loudly and clearly for Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee isn't keen to answer questions about the controversial endorsement.
Seddique Mateen, the Taliban-supporting father of the perpetrator of the worst mass shooting in American history, showed up outside a rally for Hillary near Orlando and said he agreed with everything she said. But Tuesday, Clinton ignored questions from the media about the endorsement.
"Secretary Clinton, should your campaign have known that Omar Mateen's father was at your campaign rally yesterday?" an unidentified reporter is heard calling out to Clinton as she wrapped up her announcement.
Clinton ignored the question and continued to glad-hand and smile as she left the room where she had just made an announcement. The Democratic nominee has not held a full news conference since December 4, 2015. Since then every media appearance has been closely negotiated by her team.
