A Kickstarter project raising over $100,000 has made it possible for the classic green army men figures to be reborn doing yoga poses.
The innovative mind of San Franciscan Dan Abramson dreamed up the idea after yoga helped him through a back injury. Abramson was already manufacturing and selling "Brogamats" to inspire more men to take up yoga. Following that desire, he concocted the idea of posing the army men into more peaceful poses:
I made Yoga Joes because I thought it would be a fun way to get more people into yoga, especially dudes. Yoga changed my life, I think more people should do it. Beyond that, I wanted to make a violent toy become peaceful.
Yoga Joes cost $25 for a set of nine including Headstand Joe, Meditation Pose Joe, Cobra Pose Joe, Warrior One Joe, Warrior Two Joe, Child's Pose Joe, Tree Pose Joe, Crow Pose Joe, and Downward-facing Dog Joe. They will ship in December.
If that doesn't float your peace boat, a limited edition set in hot pink is available for $50.
