Chris Matthews Disparages Mother of Benghazi Victim: 'I Don't Care' What She Felt, You Don't 'Lie About Hillary'

Keeping it classy, as always.

Monday evening's speaking roster at the Republican National Convention included Patricia Smith, mother of Benghazi victim Sean Smith. The grieving mother spoke about how she holds Hillary Clinton personally responsible for death of her son, and slammed the former Secretary of State for lying to her face about the cause of her son's death.

"I blame Hillary Clinton," Smith declared during her speech on Monday. "I blame Hillary Clinton personally for the death of my son."

MSNBC's Chris Matthews, who was providing commentary during the event, took the opportunity to disparage the bereaved mother, stating callously:

"I don’t care what that woman up there, that mother has felt ... her emotions are her own."

He went on to assert that the GOP "ruined everything" by allowing Smith to speak, because according to Matthews, "It's wrong for someone to get up there and tell a lie about Hillary Clinton."

Only that it was Hillary who did the lying.

Rachel Maddow, to her credit, actually expressed sympathy for Ms. Smith, saying her comments, as a mother, were from the heart. They also happen to be true, but MSNBC wouldn't let that get in the way of their indifference about Benghazi.
