In 2009, Secretary of State John Kerry's daughter, Dr. Vanessa Bradford Kerry, married an Iranian-American physician named Dr. Brian (Behrooz) Vala Nahed. The best man at that wedding?
The son of Mohammad Javad Zarif, the current Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Rouhani administration and Kerry’s chief counterpart in the nuclear deal negotiations, as noted at AllenWest.com.
Did this personal connection have any impact on the recent
capitulation to negotiations with Iran on the nuclear deal? Is the relationship significant and improper enough that Kerry should have recused himself from the surrender negotiations? Impossible to know, but it does suggest Kerry has a closer relationship than a Secretary of State should have with an influential member of the state sponsor of terrorism that has killed more Americans than anyone outside of 9/11.
