Trump Pardons Two Turkeys With Joke at Obama's Expense

"Tater and Tot’s pardons cannot be revoked."

At the White House Tuesday, President Trump continued a Presidential Thanksgiving tradition: the pardoning of turkeys. There was, however, one turkey he wasn’t pardoning: Barack Hussein Obama.

According to the Daily Caller, the tradition goes back more than six decades; each year, two birds receive a pardon and spend the rest of their lives on a turkey farm. Tuesday’s birds — Drumstick and Wing Bone — were the center of attention in the Rose Garden, as they were hosted by the President and First Lady accompanied by Barron Trump.

Donald thanked the crowd for its participation, and he noted that Drumstick and Wing Bone will be “very happy” about their good fortune. Given that the two turkeys will be joining former president Barack’s pardoned Tater and Tot, Trump made a joke at Obama’s expense:

“They will join Tater and Tot. Tater and Tot are two Turkeys pardoned by President Obama. I have been very active in overturning a number of executive actions by my predecessor. However, I have been informed by the White House Counsel that Tater and Tot’s pardons cannot be revoked. We’re not going to revoke them. Tater and Tot, you can rest easy.”

Watch the video below, and this week, have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
