Suspects Shout 'ISIS, ISIS' While Beating NY Man

The Hate Crime Task Force is investigating.

Police are reporting that a New York man was beaten on Sunday and the suspects shouted 'ISIS, ISIS' while assaulting the victim. The man had bruises on his head and face.

The 43-year-old man was attacked while walking with a nine-year-old girl in the Bronx around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, according to the New York City Police Department.

He was punched several times in the head, knocked down and kicked, police said. The victim, whose name was not given, was treated for injuries at a hospital and released.

The New York Times reported that the victim was wearing traditional south eastern Asian clothing, a shalwar kameez.

The Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the assault, but have not arrested any suspects yet.
