Americans have been threatening to move to Canada after elections for a long time, but they don't do it. Now Brian Lilley has a message for all of those Americans, especially the celebrity types, worried that their candidate will not win: stop threatening to move north - you will not do it.
I love Americans and America but celebrities threatening to move to Canada at election time is wearing a little thin.
There was Alec Baldwin’s threat to come if George W. Bush won back in 2000. In 2004, it was Robert Redford leading the celebrity charge with thousands checking our immigration department website causing American visits to rise six-fold the day after the election. In 2012 when Obama was up for re-election, Conservatives and Republicans made the threat.
I don’t know anyone that actually moved but I do know some that looked at property, and now it’s happening again.
Americans aren’t happy about their choices: a crazy old socialist, a crazy old liar or Donald Trump, but Canada isn’t your answer, especially if your name is Miley Cyrus, Al Sharpton, Rosie O’Donnell or Whoopi Goldberg.
Haven’t we taken in enough crazy celebrities already? If they keep threatening to come, I’m going to start sounding like the guy that wants to build that BIG wall.
I’m sick of being promised something and then not getting it. Every election big and not so big name celebrities, threaten to come to Canada and then back away slowly. We’re like the girl you secretly make out with at a party but don’t want your friends to see.
Stay home unless you’re coming for the right reasons, like helping us get rid of our problem politicians like Prime Minister Zoolander.
Canada has its own unqualified celebrity politician who was voted into the highest office in the land. Sure he’s pretty, but that doesn’t mean he can speak.
Still think fleeing from America to Canada is the answer?
