'Schindler's List' Producer: 'I Never Feared My Government Until Now'

Gerald Molen has also produced "Rain Man" and "Minority Report."

On the heels of Dinesh D'Souza's federal indictment over alleged illegal campaign contributions, Gerald Molen, producer of D'Souza's documentaries, has said that he now fears the U.S. Government.

Speaking to Newsmax TV's "Steve Malzberg Show," Molen said this legal action against D'Souza is likely political payback for their film "2016: Obama's America" which was critical of the president. Because of this indictment, Molen now says he has reason to look over his shoulder.

I’m a little bit taken aback by the whole thing because [D'Souza's] such a great American.

I’ve never had the occasion to think that I had to fear my government. I never had the thought that I had reason to think I had to look over my shoulder until now.

When asked by Malzberg if he ever felt like he should not be making this film, Molen responded:

No. This is America. I’ve never had that feeling.

Molen went on to say that he will not allow these threats to halt future projects. In fact, their new documentary "America" is scheduled to premiere on July 4, 2014.
