This is not the first time TruthRevolt has reported that there is a growing contingent among Muslims pushing the narrative that ISIS is an Israeli invention, comprising Israeli soldiers. It is one thing, however, when the perpetrator of that lie is an ignorant "everyman" who holds little sway, it is another when the lie is sold by a high-level religious cleric who has the power to influence the masses.
Such is the case with Saudi Arabia's Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz, who too is claiming that the Islamic State militants are Israeli soldiers. He also vowed that Saudi Arabia will lead the alliance of Islamic countries in defeating ISIS. The Express Tribune reports:
Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz has claimed that the Islamic State (Daesh) militants are Israeli soldiers and the Saudi-led 34-nation military alliance of Islamic countries will defeat it.
The statement came after Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the secretive leader of the terror group, called for an uprising in Saudi Arabia and pledged to attack Israel, in an audio recording released Saturday and attributed to him, AFP reported.
Terming the extremist group’s threat to attack Israel a ‘lie’, Aziz alleged that IS is a part of the Israeli army.
“This threat against Israel is simply a lie. Actually, Daesh is part of the Israeli soldiers,” said the grand mufti, who is also a chairman of Senior Scholars’ Commission and Ifta Council, during a telephonic interview with Saudi Gazette.
Criticising the militant group, he said the members of the terror outfit were causing a deal of harm to Islam and Muslims.
“They cannot be considered as followers of Islam. Rather, they are an extension of Kharijites, who rose in revolt against the Islamic caliphate for the first time by labeling Muslims as infidels and permitting their bloodletting.”
This is a consistent meme among a wide swath of Muslims (and members of the Left): That ISIS cannot be considered followers of Islam because, according to them, the beliefs ISIS militants perpetuate and the deeds they enact has nothing to do with Islam (even though ISIS members tell you themselves that everything they do is done in the name of Islam).
What's more, the mufti's statements provide further proof of the deep-seated anti-Semitism inherent in Muslim lands. That is why the mufti is so quick to blame the Jews for ISIS, rather than any other random people or catalyst.
Unfortunately, while people of sane mind might look at the Saudi mufti and scoff, his legions of followers believe what he says without question and will propagate his lies and anti-Semitism within their own circles, thus expanding the lie exponentially. Such has been the case in the Muslim world since time immemorial when it comes to the Jewish people, and it proves why a two-state solution where Palestinians accept Jews as their neighbors and friends is an impossibility.
