Rep. Scalise Back to Work After Shooting, Already Trolled on Gun Control, Healthcare

Give the man 10 seconds to get through the door before partisanship takes over.

In a simple message on Twitter, House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) announced he is now back at work after recovering from the targeted shooting attack by a Bernie Sanders supporter at a congressional baseball practice three months ago.

Scalise received a warm, standing ovation from his House colleagues from both sides of the aisle as he walked in on crutches:

In his speech, Scalise called for reaching across the aisle and not turning political battles into personal attacks. While he recovered, Scalise said he received an outpouring of well wishes from leaders around the world, some of whom he had never met.

“They saw this as an attack on all of us,” the congressman said. “They saw this as an attack on the institution of the United States Congress and our government.”

But it didn’t take long for leftists to immediately insult Scalise on Twitter over gun control laws and universal health care:
