Obama: 'I Try to Focus Not On The Fumbles But On The Next Play'

On Sunday, President Obama sat down with Bill O’Reilly of Fox News for a pre-Super Bowl interview. It was Obama’s sixth consecutive interview with a network anchor prior to the Super Bowl – an Obama attempt to grab the spotlight ahead of the most-watched television event of the year.

But it was Obama’s own fumbles during his second term that became the subject of the interview. Asked about Benghazi, Obamacare, and the IRS scandal, Obama stated, “I try to focus not on the fumbles but on the next play.” In November, Obama used similar imagery, suggesting that the administation had "fumbled" the Obamacare rollout.

Obama declined to predict who would win the Super Bowl – “I can’t make a prediction, I don’t know, these guys are too evenly matched” – but went on the offensive against Fox News, stating that Fox News was responsible for his scandal-ridden second term. “These kind of things keep resurfacing in part because you and your TV station will promote them,” Obama said, denying any corruption whatsoever inside the IRS.
