Friday's Morning Joe began with a discussion of the Chris Christie "bridgegate" press conference, which occurred on Thursday. The majority of panelists gave a fair account of the day earlier's proceedings -- except for regular guest Donny Deutsch, who fought hard to resist any sense of fairness:
Whether he knew this incident or not, this, is, the, way, Christie, does, business....This is really, really -- this is abusive. It's worse than being caught with a prostitute I really mean that, in the scandal continuum, because this isn't abuse of power that affects me, the voter.
Challenging Donny, host Joe Scarborough asked if Christie's scandal was as bad as the IRS scandal or the other scandals which have hit the Obama presidency during the past year.
Is this as bad as the IRS scandal that Barack Obama basically just sort of brushed off?
Deutsch tried to respond that in the case of Obama it was different.
