During the U.S. Africa Leaders Summit in Washington D.C., Michelle Obama told the audience that:
"Women are smarter than men," says Mrs Obama. And she says "men cant complain" because they’re outnumbered today.

She also remarked:
“Until we prioritize our girls… then we will have lots of work to do. I just want to implant that notion,” Mrs. Obama said, adding that she hopes the leaders convened in Washington “commit to new efforts to lift up our young people.”
Mrs. Obama noted that unlike presidents, first spouses don’t exactly seek the role, yet they must endure all sorts of “slings and arrows.”
“We can’t waste the spotlight. Change is needed. Life is short. And women are smarter than men,” Mrs. Obama said.
The First Lady appeared at the event along with former First Lady Laura Bush. First ladies from "Algeria, Chad, Ethiopia, Gabon, The Gambia, Mali, Morocco, Namibia, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and other nations" were in attendance in the auditorium at the Kennedy Center.
