Leftist documentarian Michael Moore sat down with CNN’s Don Lemon, donned a “no surrender” hat, and proceeded to make what might be his most ridiculous assessment ever: All Trump voters are racist in the same way a person who holds a woman down as she is raped is also a rapist.
This is a very different Moore than we saw prior to the election. Then, Moore predicted Trump would win because of how mad working America was with Washington. It wasn’t an endorsement by any means. Moore is as anti-Trump as they come. But he has slowly ramped up the rhetoric since the election and now in the wake of the president’s response to the Charlottesville violence, Moore is taking it to new heights — or lows.
Moore set it up with Lemon that he is part of the minority. That is, the one-third of “white guys who didn’t vote for Trump.” Whereas, 64 percent of white men, and 53 percent of white women, voted for the president. See the racism already? If not, Moore quoted former KKK leader David Duke who praised Trump for his Charlottesville remarks, telling him, “Remember it was White Americans who put you in the presidency.” Moore said Duke had that “right on, he was elected by white America.”
Moore declared with 100% certainty that Donald Trump is a racist and therefore, anyone who voted for him is racist, as well. He said, “If you vote for a racist, what are you then? Because it sure sounds like racism to me.”
But Moore had another comparison to make:
“If you hold down the woman while the rapist is raping her, and you didn’t rape her, are you a rapist? I mean, let’s just really — let’s cut the BS and start speaking honestly.”
Lemon pushed back ever so slightly saying that comparison is “uncomfortable,” but Moore doubled down and blamed all white people for President Trump:
“Well, it was uncomfortable watching [Trump’s press conference] and anybody who supports that — if you still support the racist, you are the racist. That has to end. I’m not sorry. I’m not letting anybody off the hook here. White people who voted for him, white people who made him happen… We cannot any longer mealy-mouth about this. And if you want me to say it again, I'll say it again. Anybody who enables, anybody who votes for and supports a racist is a racist. You are culpable, white America, I’m sorry. But there is redemption for you.”
Yes, just accept Michael Moore as your personal savior.
