Increasingly irrelevant filmmaker and political irritant Michael Moore took exception today to President Obama's comment, when introducing his executive action on gun control, that Americans “are not inherently more prone to violence” than citizens of other nations.
“[Obama] said that we Americans aren’t more violent than others," Moore tweeted. "But we r. We start wars. We drone bomb civilians. We had 330+ mass shootings in 2015.”
Um, no. According to Breitbart, Mark Follman, an editor at Mother Jones (not exactly a far-right source), explained in The New York Times that the left has enormously inflated the number of mass shootings. He puts the number at four:
At Mother Jones, where I work as an editor, we have complied an in-depth open-source database covering more than three decades of public mass shootings. By our measure, there have been four “mass shootings” this year, including the one in San Bernardino, and at least 73 such attacks since 1982.
But in the minds of the America-hating left, exemplified by Michael Moore, America is always the guilty one, always to blame, always the worst - facts be damned.
