The election of Donald Trump caused a media shakeup. The national press woke up to an angry reader/viewership that considered them the enemy. Many outlets promised to do better and arrive more at the center with content than the usual leftist propaganda. However, proving they’ll never really change is The Washington Post which has hired Clintonite and hardcore lefty, John Podesta.
The paper announced on Thursday:
The Washington Post today announced that John Podesta will join the Opinion section as a contributing columnist. Podesta, former chairman of the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign, will provide commentary and analysis on the intersection of politics and policy, the Trump administration and the future of the Democratic Party.
It would seem that Podesta’s leaked e-mails which offered a rare look into the corrupt Clinton machine would’ve been enough to ward off any future employers, but not The Post. They obviously see something special in the man who viciously despises Trump.
“No one knows more about how Washington works, how the White House operates, and how policy ideas are translated into reality than John Podesta,” Editorial Page Editor Fred Hiatt said. “His long experience in Congress, inside two Democratic White Houses and on the front lines of numerous presidential campaigns, will offer readers vital insight into Washington and politics at the start of a new era.”
That roughly translates to he’ll be saying the same things Dana Milbank does already in his column.
Yes, The Washington Post is really rounding out its voice among the mainstream by adding Podesta; former chief of staff to President Bill Clinton, counselor to President Obama, and founder of the ultra-liberal Washington think tank, Center for American Progress. His columns are sure to be fair and balanced.
