Yet another example of the blatant hypocrisy of the leftist media. Friday the left explodes in fake outrage over Rush Limbaugh’s comparison of Senate Democrats’ anti-democratic “nuclear option” to curb the filibuster rule with the ability of a majority to vote for the legalization of rape—a clearly anti-rape analogy. All the while, they largely ignore MSBC host Martin Bashir’s vile, violent, and sexist call for someone to “p*ss” and “s***” in Sarah Palin’s mouth.
On Friday, Limbaugh gave the following analogy for Senate Democrats’ stunning move to end 200+ years of procedural law:
Every now and then, some lunatic in the group proposes to change the rule to allow women to be raped. But they never were able to get six votes for it. There were always the four women voting against it and they always found two guys. Well, the guy that kept proposing that women be raped finally got tired of it, and he was in the majority and he was one that [said], 'You know what? We're going to change the rule. Now all we need is five. And well, 'you can't do that.' 'Yes we are. We're the majority. We're changing the rule.' And then they vote. Can the women be raped? Well, all it would take then is half of the room. You can change the rule to say three. You can change the rule to say three people want it, it's going to happen…When the majority can change the rules there aren’t any.
As TruthRevolt Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro writes:
Naturally, Limbaugh mentioning “rape” sent the left into spasms of apoplexy, with the Huffington Post labeling the comments “hideous.” Media Matters’ Todd Gregory quickly labeled the analogy, “such a perfect encapsulation of rape culture, it should be put in a museum.”
Of course, it is perfectly obvious to any honest and sentient human being that Limbaugh was condemning rape and suggesting the danger that a pure majority rule could be compatible with violation of our most basic rights. But that won’t stop the leftist media’s attempts to destroy Limbaugh by ignoring the content and context of his statements, even as they protect MSNBC host Martin Bashir for stating openly that someone should “p*ss” and “s***” in Sarah Palin’s mouth.
