Chris Matthews may have felt a tingle again when he suggested one of the liberal employees over at the IRS should leak President Trump’s tax return information to the public; a felony charge of $5,000 and/or five years in prison. Laughingly, the Hardball host said that would be a “good leak.”
“We know there’s no audit,” Matthews said. “Can’t the IRS just make a statement, ‘he’s not under audit?’ Just make the announcement. By the way, that would be a good leak. Somebody at the IRS just leak it.”
Global editorial director of the AOL Huffington Post Media Group Howard Fineman reminded Matthews that some people prefer a more ethical route: “People have been inviting the IRS people to do that for months, now, and to there credit so far, they haven’t.”
But Matthews persisted with a hearty laugh, “I thought they were all liberals over there. Why doesn’t somebody just leak it?”
“They might actually believe in the ethics of their job,” Fineman said.
“They’re listening, Howard, and they’re so taken with you,” a smug Matthews responded.
Some liberals just really don’t care about laws or principles.
