What is it with these people who are trying to fly drones onto White House grounds?

A man was arrested outside the White House yesterday for trying to launch a drone outside the White House fence.

The White House was placed on lockdown while the situation was investigated. The identity of the drone operator has not yet been released.

President Obama was not at the White House during the episode.

This is yet another incident this year where someone was trying to fly a drone onto White House grounds. Four months ago, a quadcopter drone piloted by an off-duty intelligence employee (!!!) crash-landed on the White House lawn. The Secret Service said that drone appeared to be accidental.

Another incident involved a postal worker who traveled from Florida with the intent of flying a drone onto the capitol lawn to protest corrupt campaign contributions.
