Lois Lerner Wants Her Role In IRS Scandal Permanently Sealed from the Public

Different rules for federal employees.

It is being reported by The Washington Times that former IRS senior executive Lois Lerner requested a judge permanently seal the court records which describe her hands-on role in targeting Tea Party and conservative groups.

Lerner claims she is concerned she may receive more death threats if the upcoming depositions are made public, telling the judge her family has been harassed enough already.

The lawyer representing Lerner sent the request to Judge Michael R. Barret, stating, “Ms. Lerner and Paz have demonstrated that the public dissemination of their deposition testimony would expose them and their families to harassment and a credible risk of violence and physical harm.”

The class action lawsuit against Lerner and Holly Paz, also complicit in the scandal, includes hundreds of the groups that were targeted. These conservative and Tea Party groups were seeking tax-exempt status from the IRS but instead experienced long delays for their applications to be approved or had them denied altogether. At the same time, other non-conservative political groups, including a Satanist group, were fast-tracked.

So far, no one has been held accountable for this criminal corruption even though Lerner obviously knows she’s guilty and doesn’t want anyone finding out.
