The city of New York is, literally, immobilized, as all transportation and travel have been shut down under order of Governor Andrew Cuomo.
At 2:30pm today, all roads in the city will be closed. Public transporation was shut down at noon on all streets. And at 4:00pm, all above-ground subway stops and lines will be closed as well. The ban comes at the city faces a potential snowfall total of over 30 inches, as well as bone-chilling temperatures.

Just hours before the ban was announced, Mayor de Blasio stated in a press conference that he was considering it in light of over 200 traffic accidents within the city as a result of the storm.
