In fact, the most common target, according to one new shooter, looks "like Ernest Borgnine-in-need-of-manscaping." (Borgnine said that he frequently was approached by law enforcement officers who told him that they'd been shooting him up for years. He didn't take offense.)
Young black men are 3X more likely to be shot by trained shooters than their white peers. A disturbing potential correlation: The most popular target for shooters to learn to use their firearm is a black silhouette. Unconscious bias can be deadly."
According to their reasoning, this paper target is causing the actual deaths of minorities:
The organization goes on to state its ultimate goal:
The campaign seeks to eliminate the use of these targets, forever. In shooting ranges, in permitting and instruction environments, anywhere someone is learning to use a firearm.
Are we to believe that this organization's goal is actually to teach all of those white people so dedicated to gun safety that they practice at gun ranges a thing or two about gunning down black people in the inner city? That's a shaky statistical correlation at best. The fact of the matter is that inner city crime is getting inner city people killed. If liberals were serious about black lives, they'd do more than this silly posturing.
