In a clip released today from an interview airing tomorrow, Fusion's Jorge Ramos asked Hillary Clinton about the situation in Gaza. Specifically, Ramos asked Clinton if she thought in any way that Israel responded "disproportionately". As part of her answer, Hillary brought up the fact of Hamas hiding rockets in civilian facilities, a practice condemned by the U.N., and said, unprompted, that they were doing it because Gaza is a pretty small area.
"I'm not a military planner but Hamas puts its missiles, its rockets in civilian areas, part of it is that Gaza is pretty small and it's very densely populated, they put their command and control of Hamas military leaders in those civilian areas."
Earlier in her comments the former secretary said that Hamas "intended to provoke Israel," and also that Hamas had "its back against the wall,' prompting them to fire missiles into Israel.
