Conservatives often wonder why the left preaches LGBT tolerance and inclusiveness but refuses to condemn the abysmal treatment of gays under Islam, even when it extends to outright murder, such as when ISIS savagely hurls bound gays from rooftops and/or stones them do death. The answer, of course, is that, although the assault on traditional values is a tactic of the radical left, leftists are ultimately bound together with fundamentalist Muslims in what David Horowitz calls an "unholy alliance" with the aim of destroying Western civilization. In that broader aim, the far left has no qualms about throwing gays under the bus to protect their Islamic partners.
Thus, a group of Antifa activists at Toronto’s annual gay pride parade this year tried to shut down a contingent of pro-gay, mostly Middle Easterners from speaking out against the oppression of the LGBT community in Muslim countries.
The Clarion Project reports that that contingent, including former Iranian political prisoners, was marching in the parade under the banner of the International Center for Human Rights (ICHR), an organization dedicated to opposing human rights abuses by dictatorships in general and the Iranian regime specifically. They carried placards with such messages as “Iran Executing Gays since 1979” and “Qatar Whips and Hangs Gays.”
One would think this would be a serious concern of those who support the LGBT community. One would not be entirely correct.
The ICHR marchers were confronted by a gang of mostly masked Antifa cowards who tried to prevent them from marching. One lectured the marchers that “anti-Muslim racists look at you and they are emboldened, do you understand?”
The ICHR activists asked if he supported gays in Islamic countries. "I've never been to an Islamic country," he confessed.
“You have never supported gays in Islamic countries,” one man shot back. A woman shouted, “We are from the Middle East! You don’t know what you are talking about!”
The Clarion Project points out that "of the 10 countries in the world where homosexuality can carry up to the death penalty, all are Muslim countries: Afghanistan, Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria (at least 50% Muslim), Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, United Arab Emirates, Yemen."
"Despite all this," Clarion continues, "Pride Toronto was only too happy to partner with anti-Israel groups to protest so called 'pinkwashing,' a made-up process which seeks to label highlighting Israel’s exemplary record on LGBT rights as a conspiracy to cover up oppression of Muslims."
Israel is the only country in the Middle East in which a gay community thrives openly and safely. But the unholy alliance considers Israel the enemy -- "Little Satan" to the United States' "Big Satan" -- so Israel must be condemned rather than celebrated. And that leaves gays to be thrown under the bus -- or off the roof.
