Man of the people and champion of the little guy Bernie Sanders spent a bit of time at a lush resort in the Coachella Valley of California this week, leaving some to wonder if he lives up to the hype.
The Desert Sun newspaper reported that Sanders, accompanied by his motorcade, stayed at the Two Bunch Palms resort near Palm Springs:
Sanders stayed in "one of the fancier rooms we have," Two Bunch Palms gate attendant Steven Gonzalez, 23, told The Desert Sun. He described the suite as a four-room building, each with a Jacuzzi, front and back patios and a pool in the middle. "It's cool to have a really powerful senator here. I definitely feel the Bern," Gonzalez said, laughing.
Guest Sam Lake was tickled pink to share time with Sanders.
Sanders used the visit for a bit of downtime in his campaign, taking in local attractions such as VillageFest, a local Palm Springs festival. Twitter and Instagram lit up with photos of Sanders at those events.
