A list recently published by Everytown for Gun Safety, the rabid Michael Bloomberg backed anti-group, shows 74 “school shootings in America since Sandy Hook.”
One journalist, Charles C. Johnson, had an issue with the list, believing that Everytown is misleading the American public by defining a school shooting not in the same manner a majority of people would. As it turns out, Everytown categorized “assaults, homicides, suicides, and accidental shootings” that happen “inside a school building or on school or campus grounds” as school shootings.
These are a few points that Johnson found.
In other words, a majority of the shootings were not “school shootings,” such as Sandy Hook, Columbine, or Virginia Tech. To the public, the list put out by Everytown to advance their political agenda, is misleading and dangerous because it turns the uninformed to the misinformed.
